How to DIY Unique Embroidered Temari Balls

Can you believe that these stunning handcrafted embroidered balls called Temari were made by a 92-year-old grandmother in Japan? Temari, meaning “hand ball” in Japanese, is a traditional folk art that originated in China and was introduced to Japan around the 7th century A.D.  In Japan, Temari are highly valued and cherished gifts symbolizing friendship, loyalty and goodwill wish. With their bright colors and beautiful patterns, these unique Temari balls are for sure gorgeous pieces of art.
