How to DIY Delicious Pizza Corona

When we talk about pizza, we would think of the flat and round shaped pizza. If you like baking homemade pizza, you can try something new and interesting, such as this pizza corona, or crown pizza! It tastes as delicious as regular pizza, but looks more beautiful. The only difference is the way you shape the dough to make it like a crown. This tasty and attractive pizza corona is great for lunch, dinner or parties. It will delight everyone when served hot on the table. Let’s try it!

Ingredients:

500 grams flour;
1 pack (0.25 ounce) dry yeast;
1 tsp honey;
100 ml milk;
200 ml water;
200 grams mozzarella cheese, shredded;
Tomato sauce;
½ tsp salt;
1 tbsp olive oil;
Oregano;

Directions:

Mix the yeast with half cup of water. Add the flour and the 1 tsp of honey and mix it to form a ball. Let it rise for 30 minutes. Add the rest of the ingredients except the tomato sauce, olive oil and cheese. Mix it together for several minutes until it becomes a smooth dough. Cover it with a towel and put it in a warm place to rise for 2 hours.

Roll the dough into a round shape and mark a circle in the middle of the dough. Follow the steps in the photos above to spread tomato sauce and other ingredients on the circle. Use a knife to cut small triangular slices in the center of the dough. Roll each slice back to wrap the fillings and brings it to the outer edge. Repeat this for each slice and you’ll have this unique crown shaped pizza.

Bake in the oven preheated at 200 degree for about 20 minutes until the dough turns golden brown. The pizza is ready to be served!
