Many people like IKEA furniture items because they are beautifully designed and affordable. Each piece comes with exact sizes so we can fit it conveniently into our space. But what if you have the wrong measurements and the furniture does not fit? Thanks to the creativity of the DIY enthusiasts, there are always genius IKEA hacks for you to do something. And here’s the story of Michelle, author of the blog Iron & Twine.
IKEA has some of the best, flexible and affordable options for storage shelving units. Michelle bought three IKEA Expedit shelving units to place in the corner area, but she found out that it didn’t quite fit the space. The third shelf was too wide and struck out into her kitchen doorway. Instead of returning the whole item to the store, she came up with a very creative solution to fix it.
She rotated the outside unit sideways to face out and it fit perfectly! She even made a long chalkboard on the blank side of the third unit, which is great for the kids. With some paintings and arrangements, she transformed her IKEA IKEA Expedit shelving units into a customized and beautiful organizational unit for her home.
